The Hunger Games Limbo and Why I Feel Like a Teenager

I finished The Hunger Games more than a week ago.  I'm waiting for someone else to finish Catching Fire before it gets passed on to me.  In the meantime, I find myself in limbo.  Though I have about twenty other books waiting on a shelf for me, I can't make myself jump into any of them.  My mind is still residing in the world of Katniss Everdeen and I kind of feel like being a purist about it and not diving into something else while I'm waiting.

So what do I do while I'm waiting?  Part of me is contemplating buying the boxed set -- to cut down on my wait time.  But I hardly ever buy books anymore.  I do like to own the books that I will remember forever, and I think this falls into that category.  In my dream world I own a quaint little bookstore with tall dark shelves filled with all my favorites, which I, of course, access from an ancient rolling ladder.

Apparently, while I'm waiting, I also impulsively buy a copy of People magazine at the check-out counter at Michael's because Katniss is on the cover.  Now I feel like a thirteen-year-old girl.   Who will very much enjoy her magazine.
