Redemption is a tearjerker

It's no secret that I am in love with Alice Ozma's book, The Reading Promise .  Both Alice's book and her story are beautiful, funny, sometimes heart-wrenching, but always triumphant.  And very intertwined with a 3,218 day reading streak with her single father.  It was his promise to be present in her life.

If you've read the book, fallen in love with the awesomeness of her father, and have developed a particular view of the role her mother played in her life story, I highly recommend {this article}.  It was written back in 2011, but it was new to me today.  I totally cried.

It reminded me that life, and people, are very complex and can never be fully written on a page.  And that redemption will always, always make me cry.

The first sentence of the article reads:  "I’d like to share some important news: my mother is my biggest fan."
